Our Goal is to give you A
Tired Happy Dog
How Our Classes Work
At the Zoom Room, we don’t train dogs. We train the people who love them. We’ve redefined dog training, with classes specially designed to build confidence and success as dogs master skills in a simple, step-by-step process.
We utilize only positive dog training methods, which your entire family can easily master and embrace. You will be actively engaged in your dog’s training, working as a team as you learn to communicate more effectively with your dog. So what you learn at the Zoom Room doesn’t have to stay at the Zoom Room. Behaviors will naturally transition to life at home with your dog.
Our indoor dog training gym offers small group classes in agility, obedience, puppy and socialization classes with the best dog trainers in the Capital District. Plus, private, one-on-one training scheduled to your convenience is also available.
We offer a flexible training "pop in" schedule that is designed for the 21st century lifestyle. There is always time for vacation, holidays and even that visit from Grandma! Never a worry about missing a class.
Dogs progress at different levels. The time it may take to achieve your goals with your dog are soley dependent on your commitment and their ability to learn.

First, you should find your nearest Zoom Room, then set this as your location. The name of your preferred location will now always appear on the top right of your screen, and clicking on it will bring you to that location’s home page with info specific to that store.
At the very top right of the screen, click on LOGIN and then click CREATE AN ACCOUNT and enter the required information about you and your dog.
Once you have done this, the word “LOGIN” will change to MY ACCOUNT and clicking on it at any time will bring you to a page where you can view your schedule, purchase and visit history, and even upload your dog’s vaccination records.
Now that you’re logged in, you can go to your preferred location’s page to see the current schedule. You can sign up for an Orientation or any other offerings there. On the location’s page, you can also book an appointment for private training or an Evaluation.
We offer small group classes, special workshops, and private training. Before attending any services at the Zoom Room, we will need a copy of your dog’s current vaccination records.
GROUP CLASSES. We use a Levels system in our classes. You work at your own pace, and graduate to the next level when you and your dog are ready to move up. You can attend class as frequently as you like, or skip a week or two if your schedule changes. You’ll never fall behind because everyone in class is at the same level working on the same skills.
ORIENTATIONS & EVALUATIONS
Most clients start at Basic Manners after attending an Orientation, and will be “graduated” to the next level when the instructor determines the dog and handler have mastered the skills needed to move on. Orientation is a free half-hour session you attend without your dog.
If your dog is already past basic obedience, you can schedule a half-hour private Evaluation to place out of beginner classes. The Evaluation will allow us to ascertain your dog’s current skill level and get you right into the level where you belong.
If you have concerns about behavioral issues, you should also book an Evaluation.
If you have a puppy, you don’t need an Evaluation; start with an Orientation.
If you book an Evaluation you do NOT need to attend Orientation.
If you don’t see an Orientation session on the schedule at a time convenient to you, please call us as we can usually work to accommodate your schedule.
WORKSHOPS. Unlike group classes, which you can take at any day/time they are offered, Workshops occur at the same time on the same day of the week for a specified number of weeks – usually three or six, and you must attend each session, in order. Some Workshops, like advanced classes, have prerequisites. If you haven’t already done so, you will need to schedule either an Orientation or Evaluation prior to attending your first Workshop.
PRIVATE TRAINING. We offer one-on-one private training in all disciplines for one or two dogs. No Orientation or Evaluation is needed.
Puppy Preschool, Puppy Obedience, Puppy Agility, Puppy Pup-lates® and Private Puppy Training. The first four are group classes which are ideal as they provide not only instruction but also socialization opportunities. Private sessions are great if you find yourself needing some extra help with obedience or other issues.
To get started with puppy classes, please schedule an Orientation; puppies don’t need an Evaluation.
Yes. Puppy Preschool includes instruction on how to implement a housebreaking plan. But no, we don’t do housecalls if that’s what you were wondering.
We have created safety and sanitation protocols at the Zoom Room that meet and exceed all industry standards, specifically to foster a safe, healthful environment for all of our guests, especially the wee ones who have yet to have all their shots. We take every imaginable precaution for the health and safety of your puppy. These precautions include:
- Every adult dog that attends the Zoom Room is fully vaccinated. We require written proof from all owners.
- The entire facility and all equipment is thoroughly sanitized with veterinary-grade disinfectants immediately prior to Puppy Preschool.
- All puppies are required to have verified vaccinations commensurate with age.
- We regularly swab and test our floors, equipment and reception area surfaces to test bacterial loads, conforming to the most exacting standards. You simply will not find this attention to detail in any other training facility.
- We require that puppies who attend the Zoom Room do not visit dog parks or dog day cares until they have received full vaccinations.
- Your puppy is supervised at all times by a qualified dog trainer.
And we do all of this because we firmly believe that early socialization is critical to the healthy, happy development of your puppy. We want your puppy to come Zoom with us – so we pull out all stops to make it as safe as possible for him to do so.
